Eligibility

What type of person is a good candidate for a KSTF Teaching Fellowship? Is the Fellowship need-based? Who is eligible to apply for a Teaching Fellowship? Am I eligible if I am not a U.S. citizen, or if my bachelor's degree is not from a college or university in the United States? Do you only accept recent college graduates? Am I eligible if I have no previous teaching experience or prior coursework in education? What if I am already teaching? What if I have already started a teacher education program? What if I already have my teaching certificate? Why aren't certified teachers eligible to apply? What if I have been teaching under an emergency certification?

How does the selection process work? When will I know if I've been accepted? Can I defer my acceptance?

Being a Teaching Fellow

What are the responsibilities of a Teaching Fellow? What are the benefits of becoming a Teaching Fellow? How does KSTF support me financially? How am I trained and supported? Teaching Credential Programs

Do I need to be admitted into a credential program before I apply for a Teaching Fellowship? Do you have requirements as to the type/location of the teaching program? Is KSTF affiliated with any teacher education programs?

Working as a teacher

After I complete my credential program, am I responsible for finding my own teaching position? Can I teach at any school I want? What if I do not find a full-time teaching position after I am credentialed?
