Jeff Kralik
Research Associate
Knowles Science Teaching Foundation

Jeff began work as the KSTF Research Associate in February, 2005. His primary responsibilities involve gathering and analyzing data on the 2004 Cohort of Science Teaching Fellows. KSTF hopes to use this data to inform our practice as well as the larger research community's understanding of how novice teachers develop into professional teachers. Jeff also is currently working on his doctorate in educational policy at the University of Pennsylvania. Jeff's dissertation research on teacher induction and retention will incorporate the data that he gathers at KSTF.

After graduating from Bowdoin College, Jeff started his career in education as a high school math, French and history teacher. He taught for ten years in Baltimore, New York State and Marin County, California before starting his doctoral program at Penn.

Jeff currently lives in Philadelphia with his wife Tammy, a pediatric oncologist, and their two year old son Nathan. Jeff is an avid cyclist and an amateur oenophile, both passions he was able to pursue as a cyclo-tourism guide in Europe for the last ten years.
