CONTACT ROSEANNE >>
Roseanne Rostock grew up near Wilkes-Barre, PA, and went to college at Lehigh University where she earned a BS in physics with a minor in science journalism. Through NSF's Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program, Roseanne worked for two summers on research projects in semiconductors and polymer physics. She earned her MAT in science education from Boston University.
Roseanne taught high school physics in the Boston Public Schools, and also coordinated her school's chapter of the Massachusetts Pre-Engineering Program, an after-school engineering club. As a teacher-facilitator for the Business and Technology Pathway, she worked with a small cluster of teachers to focus instruction on state standards and implement writing across the curriculum. She also taught math and physics at a small charter high school in Philadelphia, where she developed the physics curriculum, introduced a physics-first model for 9th grade and developed a math SAT-prep program.
Roseanne served for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Naga City, Philippines, where she worked with science and English teachers from six high schools and 23 elementary schools on developing students' critical thinking skills and improving content knowledge for physics teachers.
Roseanne is currently a doctoral student in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the National Science Teachers Association, the American Association of Physics Teachers, the American Educational Research Association and the National Peace Corps Association. |
