Dr. Rachael Eriksen Brown received a BA in mathematics with a minor in philosophy from Siena College in Loudonville, NY in 2000. She earned an MS in the natural sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a PhD in mathematics education from the University of Georgia in 2009.
Rachael taught mathematics at Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester, Vermont from 2000 to 2003 while working on her masters. She and her husband then moved to the St. Louis area where she worked at Kirkwood High School in Kirkwood, Missouri. While at the University of Georgia, she worked on a study of teachers’ content knowledge and community building in professional development. From 2006 to 2009 she was a graduate assistant in the Learning and Performance Support Lab at the University of Georgia.
Rachael was awarded the Women Pioneer in Education award her last year of graduate school. Rachael was born in Vermont and currently lives in New Jersey with her husband, two daughters and dog. |
