Christopher Bogiages joined KSTF from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he was a high school science teacher for ten years. Chris received his Bachelors in Biology and his Master's in Secondary Science Education from Coastal Carolina University and is currently nearing completion of his Doctorate in Secondary Science Education from the University of South Carolina. His research focuses on the factors that affect in-service science teachers' implementation of model-based reasoning and model-based teaching. Chris is also a National Board Certified Teacher since 2007 and hopes to support those KSTF fellows who wish to complete National Board Certification during their fellowship.

Although a native of New Jersey, Chris has lived in South Carolina for the past fifteen years. Chris and his wife, Tina, have two children, Alyssa and Nicholas, and their dog, Samson.
